"Change Opinion"
Have you changed your belief about something lately? The last time I changed my belief was when Bill Clinton was in office.
The president of the U.S.A., Mr. Bill Clinton, spoke about everyone having equal opportunity to join the military. I thought that women should not be able to join the unit that engaged in combat. He also spoke about gays in the military which I never really gave much thought about. Mr. Clinton stated that no one should be discriminated against because of their social preferred or gender. I never new that such a big issue would become from the statement he had made. I never felt that it was a sensible thing to allow the female to join the combat unit. I felt that women were less suited and would not be able to carry out the demands of the combat soldier. I found out through the media that women were very willing to participate in training and cobra mission. Women felt very strong about their rolls in the U.S.A.
Another issue that the president talked about was the gays and lesbians in the military. I never gave it much thought but as I watched the public give their point of view, I soon came to realized the president was right about his feeling toward a person who want to serve their country. A good soldier is not determine by his/her gender or his/her preferred. A good citizen is not determined by those qualities either. The important issue is his/her faith in God and his/her respect for others rights. The country was built on the idea of freedom and equal rights for all.
Now, the issue is who would be the best Democratic candidate for president? Either way history is being made by the selecting of a black male or white female as chosen candidate for the Democratic Party.
